Description: This layer was compiled from four separate sources, all of which are representations of FEMA's Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs). The source is noted in the "Source2" attribute field.(1) Effective Digital Flood Insurance Rate Maps (DFIRMs): Highly accurate, official representations of effective FIRMs. Effective DFIRMs have been officially distributed with paper FIRMs since 1999. DFIRM data included in this compilation was incorporated exactly as-is. Its attribute structure was preserved. Several new attributes were added to better define the data source (e.g. Source2).(2) Preliminary DFIRMs: Same as effective DFIRMs except they have not yet been officially adopted and may undergo changes as the result of an appeal by the affected community. Preliminary DFIRMs are not distributed to the general public and were acquired from FEMA via the Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD).(3) FEMA Digital Q3 Data: Early digital representations of FIRMs produced by FEMA. This data series has been discontinued. There are known issues with its spatial accuracy. These data were included only where effective or preliminary DFIRMs were unavailable.(4) State Digitized: Digital representations of FIRMs created by DLCD. This data was provided to the Oregon Department of Geology and Mineral Industries (DOGAMI) in July 2010. These data were included only where effective or preliminary DFIRMs or Q3 data were unavailable. Some areas of the state have not been assessed for flood hazard by FEMA and do not have FIRMs. Understand that this layer is not an exhaustive depiction of flood hazard in Oregon.
